Criminal Records Expunged
In North Carolina, some past convictions of criminal records can be expunged. For instance, if you were convicted of a nonviolent misdemeanor or felony and it has been more than 15 years since that occurred, North Carolina Law will likely allow your record to be erased. This means if you are ever on a witness stand and are giving sworn testimony and you are asked it will be your lawful right to answer, “No, I have not.” This also allows you to rightfully deny on employment forms that you were convicted of a crime. You could be on your way to having your right to own a weapon and hunt with your family and friends restored. Other expunctions may also be available based on your specific record and your behavior since the conviction or arrest. As an experienced lawyer who understands these laws and the required processes, I may be able to help.
